Kathleen De Long is Senior Human Resources Officer, University of Alberta Libraries. She has been a frequent guest lecturer in the Masters in Library Science (MLIS) program at the University of Alberta and sessional instructor for the library leadership and management course. In 2003, Kathleen was awarded the Miles Blackwell Award for Outstanding Academic Librarian by the Canadian Association of College and University Libraries. As well as her MLIS, Kathleen has a Masters in Public Management from the University of Alberta, and just recently completed her doctorate in Managerial Leadership in the Information Professions at Simmons College. Her current research focuses upon investigating leadership within the library profession.
